Constrast Enhancer

Downloading of the archive: ijce-1.0.4.tgz (35K)

Artenum have developed a Java plug-in for image processing software for the Paris-Meudon Observatory. ImageJ specializes in improving contrast for 8 bit grayscale images. It uses a low cost adapted algorithm for large size images. The API documentation included in the archive is in Javadoc format. Contrast Enhancer uses JDK 1.1.8 and higher.

Example performed on an image representing the solidification front of an alloy composed of two crystalline phases (succinonitrile-camphor).

What is ImageJ ?

ImageJ is a free image processing software written in Java. It was inspired by the Macintosh software NIH-Image developed by the National Institute of Health.

ImageJ functions in two modes:

- as an applet in a web browser,
- as an application on any Java supported platform.

IIt is recommended using virtual machine Java 1.1 or later.
